Biography

Cristina Maggiora grew up in Torino, Italy. Her father is Italian and mother from Ohio. She came back to the States in 1977,
and from 1979 to 1984 studied design and metalsmithing at the
Cleveland Institute of Art.

In 1986 she moved to New York City to work in the fashion industry, designing a jewelry collection represented by Kruger Gallery on Madison Ave, Showroom 7 and finally LP Studio on 5th Ave. She also worked in the studio of Donna Karan Jewelry and Robert Lee Morris. Her designs sold at Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Barney's NY, I Magnin, Fortunoff and many other well known retailers, boutiques and galleries.

She currently resides in New Mexico, and freelances as a Museum Mountmaker in different cities from time to time. Recent commissions include the complete installation of artifacts at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Cleveland, and the Johns Hopkins Arcaeological Museum in Baltimore, in collaboration with her brother Carlo Maggiora

Her love of graphic design and aptitude for computers has also led her into the field of web design, which has become her main focus in the last fourteen years. She has been designing websites since 1998.
